Time To Update The Blog!
Well, it’s been a LONG time since I updated my blog, so I will explain a few things.
For the last 18 months, I have been helping take care of my mother. Mom is 90 now, and is having mobility issues, and cannot live on her own anymore.
So, I was spending my days working out of my house, nights staying at mom’s house. I was taking care of business, but just doing the basics. Not much time to update the other features on the website.
Mom got into the retirement home she wanted, at the end of December. She is very happy there, and it has all worked out.
I, along with my brother and sister, was fortunate to be there for mom when she needed help, and I will never regret that.
On top of that, I had some health issues. Everything is still not resolved, but it is very manageable, and I am now much more mobile than I was three months ago.
So, I moved back home, got the health issues in check, was all set to go like gangbusters…and then Covid-19.
Business has come to a screaming halt, but I am no different than the majority of businesses. In fact, I am in a slightly better position, because I have been working from home for 23 years now, so it’s not a huge change for me. Loss of income may be an issue, but working from home isn’t!
So, looking ahead…like almost everyone, I really don’t know. I have an auction booked for April 25, but I am pretty sure that’s not going to happen. However, I can line up consignments, work on the photos, basically get the sale ready, and then do the auction whenever we can. I not selling fruit and vegetables…the antiques won’t go bad sitting in my storage for a few months!
We are all in this together. Historic times indeed, but we will pull through. Stay safe, stay healthy, and we will be back to “LIVE, old fashioned country auctions” as soon as we can.
